Hello, everybody, welcome to my Hubpages! It's been great getting to know some of you here.

I have always enjoyed writing and used to write sappy love poems and some short stories in school. My dream was to be published somewhere, but let's face it, poetry is not a huge seller. I decided to self-publish two books of poetic verse and now my kids have a keepsake of my more sentimental side. I've decided to write here to further my experience and it's great to be among such a wonderful group of talented writers and storytellers. It's really a nice switch from my long-standing grant writing career. It had a time and place but it never allowed me to be too creative or to draw from personal experience. It was more detail and the matter-of-fact.

I am the mother of three, including a child with special needs, a miracle baby, and a beautiful boy we adopted. For awhile I had been an advocate for children living with Autistic Spectrum Disorder in Orange County, NY. It is always my goal to promote Autism Awareness and to improve educational opportunities here and elsewhere.  And to be the best I can be...
